Dr Tariq graduated from the University of New South Wales Medical School.
Dr Tariq studied science and medicine at the University of New South Wales, graduating with honours. Subsequently he was awarded a PhD from the University of Sydney in 2013, after several years of research into retinal structure measured by optical coherence tomography. This research lead to the publication of several world first descriptions of retinal structure.
His specialty training in ophthalmology was through Sydney Eye Hospital. His medical retina subspecialty fellowship training was at Westmead Hospital. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists.
Dr Tariq is currently involved as an investigator for several clinical trials in retinal disease and attends several conferences to keep abreast of the latest developments. He has been regularly involved in teaching of ophthalmology registrars, other doctors and medical students and holds an academic appointment as a clinical associate lecturer at the Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney.
