Dr Lee graduated from the University of New South Wales Medical School. She then joined RANZCO and FRANZCO and started her Ophthalmology work in 2009.
Dr Anne Lee is a Glaucoma subspecialist and one of the Principals at Norwest Eye Clinic. She has public hospital clinical appointments at Sydney Eye Hospital and Liverpool Hospital since completion of her Glaucoma Fellowship at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, UK in 2009. She visits Royal Darwin Hospital regularly to provide glaucoma service to the Northern Territory. At these tertiary/ quaternary level teaching institutions, she manages high volumes of patients with complex glaucoma, most of whom require complex Glaucoma and/ or Cataract surgery, and concurrently provides essential and active teaching and training to our future generation of Ophthalmologists.
Dr Lee is the current Head of Department of Ophthalmology at Liverpool Hospital, a role dedicated towards patient advocacy and improvement of resources to the Public Health sector.
Dr Lee is a Senior Clinical Lecturer with the University of Sydney and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals. After graduating with Honours at University of New South Wales and residency at Concord Repatriation Hospital, she undertook a PhD in Glaucoma Epidemiology and Systemic risk factors at the University of Sydney, awarded in 2006. She was a co-investigator of the Blue Mountains Eye Study 10 year follow-up, with Professor Paul Mitchell as her mentor. Dr Lee has been awarded NHMRC grants for her research into glaucoma, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and Seri-ARVO travel grants, and an Allergan Preceptorship.
Additionally, since 2011, she has been on the Board of Examiners of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) and the College Mentor Co-ordinator for the NSW Accredited ophthalmology trainees.
